Unless currently included in the website auction features above, your final auction price does not include: Writing, editing, uploading, or installing scripts (ex: pearl, cgi, php, etc.); database creation or editing including asp; css style sheets; template customization; web hosting; domain name registration; audio or video; or uploading website files to your server. back to faq ^ Why Don't You Use CSS Style Sheets? To be perfectly honest with you, I obviously could use them, however, the reason I choose not to is simple: Contrary to common belief, css style sheets are not the magic cross-platform cure all for giving web pages a standardized look and feel. Oh they work fine if your computer and operating system are new enough, and you're using a current version of MS Internet Explorer as your web browser...and oh yeah, if your eyesight is perfect...let's not forget that. However, believe it or not, there are still millions of folks in the world who don't have the latest and greatest, and/or who don't or won't surf using the MSIE browser. So many of those beautiful style sheet based websites look like garbage to them. And let's not forget the visually impaired and elderly folks out there. When a font size is restricted and locked in place by css (and normally at a relatively small font size), the MSIE browser feature that increases text size doesn't work. And let's not forget Netscape and Firefox users. Try and increase the font size using Netscape and Firefox and...by golly you will...the font size will increase...unfortunately what happens next, especially with your fancy high tech template based sites, is the site is exploded (graphically) and it looks nasty. Opera is somewhat refreshingly different. Increasing font size in an Opera viewed css site won't blow it apart. Instead, the entire site is enlarged. Which, except for the increased horizontal scrolling you have to deal with, is kinda cool. So, I guess using css is fine if the web designer and client don't care about these folks. However, I do and believe you do to. It is for these reasons and these folks that I design the majority of my websites using basic html and carefully designed tables. This has enabled me to produce websites that are not only beautiful, functional, and practical, but user friendly and cross-platform compliant (at least this is my goal). All that said, if a client insists on css, I'll certainly incorporate it. back to faq ^ What If I Want To Make Changes Later? I am always available to edit and update your website after the fact and my rates are very reasonable. However, if you have a basic knowledge of html and wish to do the work yourself, you should have no trouble. I don't use MS FrontPage to create your site, and normally don't include css, or any scripting (pearl, cgi, php, etc.). This eliminates a huge amount of clutter and confusion when viewing the code, thus making it much easier for you to work with. Even if you have little or no html knowledge, using a wysiwyg (what you see is what you get) web page editor, you should be able to make most changes with little difficulty. To make it even easier, if you want your menu to consist of basic image links (button images), similar to those used on this auction page, I'll even include blank button and page header graphics along with the font used. This way you can add buttons and pages to your site later. This doesn't apply to java, dhtml, or flash menus. back to faq ^ Once I've Paid For My Site, Then What? Once you have won/purchased your website, I will send you an e-mail with all the required project information - preferred background graphic, color scheme, pictures (only those you personally own, free, and public domain allowed, etc.. Don't worry if you don't know exactly what you want - we can work together on coming up with a design you'll like. As work progresses, you'll be able to view your site by means of a special link that I'll e-mail to you. As much as I'd love to give you a definite answer as to how many days it will take to create your website, in my earnest attempt to do so in the past, there have been too many problems & misunderstandings. The main reasons why I can't give you an exact time for the completion of your website are as follows: I have no idea how long it will take me to create a website layout (design) that you'll be happy with; I have no idea how long it will take you to get me all of the content (text, photos, video, audio, etc.) that I need for your website; I have no idea how many changes you'll want made along the way (midway & last minute changes from clients happen all the time folks); If you're wanting a logo, flash intro, etc., I have no idea how long it will take to create something you'll be happy with; I have no idea how many clients I'll have at any given time. As you can hopefully see, there are many factors involved in your website package creation process...and I have total control over none of them. NOTE: The more detailed info you can get to me, and the faster you can get it to me, the sooner your website will be completed. If your website needs are critical and on that tight of a schedule, I offer a 3-4 day rush/priority service for an additional $300. Yep, it's not cheap. But then your site will be given priority.
