Description
Greetings… you are bidding on a 1 year contract for my services! Hey now, not THOSE kind of services. I offer the following: over 25 years experience working with computers: I build, install, configure, maintain, and repair desktop PC’s (sorry, very little Apple experience), servers, and network infrastructure. I have 5 certifications (including the infamous MCSE, the Cisco CCNA, and the HP Server APS). I have over 10 years of field service experience… the last 7 years or so I have been working for hedge funds as a network engineer and lately as IT Manager. I designed and built the entire IT infrastructure for the current fund (including redundant Internet connections, all servers, multi-screen workstations, Bloomberg, etc.). The system has had ZERO downtime over the last 10 months. Yes, ZERO downtime...thanks to PROPER planning and redundancy. THAT’S where you start to see the difference between me and my dime-a-dozen “tech” brothers… I don’t PRETEND to know what I’m doing by throwing around jargon… I DO KNOW what I’m doing, and I do it right from DAY ONE.I have also hired, trained, and managed various personnel, both technical and "retail" employeesI have owned and managed retail establishments, including being GM of an entertainment "complex" Contact me with your email address and I will send you a copy of my current resume. So why the heck am I doing this bizarre ebay thing??? Well, after 25+ years messing with computers, I’m kind of looking for something more interesting, with better potential for, how shall I say— early retirement possibilities. All these years working for corporate millionaires who never have to get up at 4AM the rest of their lives if they don’t want to, and I’m not one of them! I want my real chance to be a real star… I have this entrepreneurial spirit in my blood (my father, a chemist, also owned a store. My grandfather owned a store). I have been engaging in various business opportunities since I was about 10 years old… I had my first “real” business when I was 14, with a registered trade name and everything. When I was 17 I was featured in CompuServe’s “Online Today” magazine (boy, remember CompuServe?). My favorite quote from that article- “We Sinclair people are not sheep, blindly following the masses with whatever is just popular”. I was a dealer of Sinclair computer equipment back then. I’ve also been involved in other retail and management ventures, including restaurants and standard retail electronics stores. I was general manager of a “complex” that included a gym, pool club (indoor and outdoor), children’s play place, skatepark/arcade, catering halls, and small retail “mall” area. Although I was GM, I could often be found about the complex, doing everything from flipping burgers to cleaning toilets if necessary… it was my job to be on top of things, and making sure things were right for those who paid my rent– the customers. And I owned my own virtual reality/network gaming center, complete with simulators and linked gaming pods (see the pix!). I had plans in my head for a big place in Florida, but never could get the $$$ together to get it going big, so I opened a small venue. I still have plans in my head for some interesting stuff, like an indoor snow-ski center in Central Florida (the name Orlando Snow(tm) is MINE). I want to be in on something big, cool, and most important– FUN! I want to be TRUSTED to use my skills and abilities to help something GROW, and be rewarded for being part of that process. I can be your IT guy from day one if you’ll grant me the opportunity to properly do what I do, without second guessing or micromanaging. Or I can be your “second in command” or “right hand man” in some fascinating venture, utilizing my business acumen and “people skills” to help things roll. I have 3 children (2, 4, and 7 years old), so there are SOME limits to what I can get involved in and where we can go. We bought a house in Southern Connecticut a year ago, so your opportunity must be within reasonable commuting distance, or else you’ll have to provide for all relocation expenses as well. If you have a venture out of my reasonable commute area, CONTACT ME BEFORE BIDDING and I’ll let you know if it’s something I can do. I am God fearing, loyal, honest, reliable, dependable, and trustworthy. You can count on me. People have been confiding in me all my life, and their secrets are still secrets. If you want the best, don’t settle for less– BID FOR ME! Please don’t bid as a goof– that’s a good way to get a permanent ban from ebay. Bidding starts the obligation process. As I’m not sure Paypal can handle a six-figure transaction, winner will be expected to overnight 10% of the winning bid via certified funds within 24 hours of winning, or utilizing a secure wire-transfer. As protection for both of us, I will expect 10% of winning bid to be paid within 24 hours of winning via certified overnighted funds or wire transfer. I will then meet with the winning bidder and allow you one week to determine if you wish to accept the contract. If you do not, I will refund in full all monies forwarded in full. If you wish to accept, you will then forward the balance of the winning bid also via certified overnighted funds or wire transfer. The contract is not bound until I have cash in my account. If the winning bidder does not pay, I will then contact the next highest bidders in order. Failure to accept these terms after bidding will result in my starting the process to have your account permanently banned from ebay.I reserve the right to cancel the deal and refund any monies forwarded if I feel the deal is not right for me; i.e. if you have in some way misrepresented the opportunity you offer, or are engaging in something that is unethical, immoral, or illegal. If I see bidding activity, I will have a proper contract prepared by attorney, and will then be able to forward it to serious bidders. Just expect that it will have clauses to protect both of us (it will be fair to all parties) and will not be one sided. If you are serious about bidding but prefer to see contract details up front, contact me.MY CURRENT POSITION LOOKS LIKE IT WILL WIND DOWN AT THE END OF JUNE-- I SHOULD BE AVAILABLE TO YOU FULL TIME IN JULYMore about me:I have a HAM radio license.I was a Scout (I earned the Arrow of Light before my 4 person troop disbanded).I was awarded a Congressional Medal of Merit when I was 17.I enjoy model railroads, magic, and working with my hands.I'm not afraid of tools, whether a screwdriver or blow torch... (I am currently finishing my basement myself... I have put in a sleeper floor, and started framing some walls- with steel frame).I like fixing things, but I do know what my time is worth- I won't waste an hour trying to change the oil in my car, when I know for $20 and 10 minutes, someone else can do it.I have an innate curiosity about things... I like to learn about and explore new things and developments (and old things too... I still haven't taken my family to Yellowstone Park, but I sure would like to!).
